Grade 3 is an exciting year of discoveries!
As part of our curriculum, the students venture into outer space, experience square dancing as in pioneer times, build structures, explore the Inuit culture and trek through a local forest or bog. Our study of Surrey includes our annual Road Trip through the city. We also journey through the Old Testament, focusing on God’s faithfulness to his people. The students are encouraged to understand their role in the restoration of this world through themes such as Community-Building, Beauty-Creating, Earth-Keeping and Servant-Working. Books are another big part of our classroom world. It’s exciting to watch students transition from “learning to read” to “reading to learn”.
As we educate for wholeness, we look at the social, intellectual, physical, spiritual and emotional growth of our students, nurturing their relationship to God, to others, to Creation and to themselves.
