Our team of Patrick Juan, Shawn Liu and Chris Buckland came in 1st place in the TWU Chemistry Olympiad competing against other private and public schools. That’s 2 first place finishes and a third place finish in the last 3 years. The contest consists of 2 lab events that they complete as a group plus a written test that they do individually but their test points get added to make a team score. We’re even at a disadvantage because some of the questions on the test are from AP Chemistry which our students haven’t done. Our students always do really well on the lab portions of the contest. Kudos to our science department and the emphasis we put on the “doing” in science.
