Together we raised $35,000!
Thank you for your past involvement and encouragement for the next stage
Past involvement: The Imagine Campaign
I am excited to report to you that we have invested all of the funds raised in last year’s Imagine Campaign. Our grand total was $ 35, 000.00. $11,616 was raised specifically for a playground. I am pleased to announce that the playground has been purchased and we are waiting for final approval from the landscape architects and building committee before we can set it up. We will be removing the swing set and space net during the first phase of construction and will then install all three apparatuses in a new playground space. Thank You!! and as soon as we get the go ahead, we’ll be calling for some volunteers!
We also raised $12,031 towards technology, which we have invested into netbooks at the middle campus, Ipods at the primary campus and a much improved network infrastructure for the whole system. We are currently in phase 1 of our move toward 1:1 student computer use and look forward to adding grade 10 to the program next year (the current 8’s will take their netbooks to grade 9 and the current 7’s will start fresh). That will mean that 2/3 of the secondary school will be fully involved in one to one computer use! At the same time we will be purchasing another set of netbooks for the grades 6s and 7s so that they are increasingly well-prepared for the one to one program. Again, thanks for your support in allowing our students to engage in real-world learning styles.
Finally, we raised $11, 000.00 for a new school bus. I am very pleased to tell you that, after months of looking for the perfect fit, we have purchased a 2004, 24 passenger school bus. One of the most exciting parts of this story is that the new bus come equipped with a wheel chair lift and can accommodate two wheelchairs at a time. This is perfect for a school like Surrey Christian that believes the kingdom of God is inclusive. It will serve our students well. Many thanks for your generosity in the Imagine Campaign that made all three of these goals a reality!
The next stage: Keeping Promises Campaign
This year, we are fully involved in a capital campaign to build a new primary structure. The Keeping Promises campaign is our priority and we would like everyone in the community to prayerfully consider the part they can play in realizing our goal of $1.5 million. We believe it is essential that every family in the school contribute to the campaign. We covet your prayers as we move forward.
